The inventory of homes in Austin has fallen for the 6th consecutive month down to 5.4 months. This is the lowest number since 2008. At 4 months we are considered to be in “Seller’s Market” so the Austin real estate market is a lot stronger than some may think. With all of the negative national news, it is often hard to get a grasp on what is really happening locally. To give you an idea of how Austin compares, here are some other major cities inventory numbers:
San Antonio, TX: 7.2 months
Charleston, SC: 16 months
Naples, Florida: 18 months
